Pure Love
Pure love is the touch of a child
When after you have punished them
For a thing done wrong and
Told them they are grounded,
Made them listen to you give your lecture and
Made them sit in their room
Without the TV or radio
They cry, scream or shout and
Then come to you and say "I love you"
They are not just saying three words
They are saying:
"I may not like it, but I understand,
I may say I hate you, but I don't,
I may wish for something better,
But I have the best, I have you,
And
I know you love me
Because you care enough
To correct me when I am wrong."
